FOUR girls were approached and followed by a group of men in a black van on their way to school on Wednesday.

Thames Valley Police said it had stepped up patrols after the girls, aged between 11 and 13, were approached by the three men as they were walking along Cricket Road, Cowley, just after 8am.

One of the men offered the girls a lift in the vehicle, described as medium-sized and black with blacked-out windows, but they drove off when one of the girls said she would call the police.

None of the schoolgirls got into the van and none were harmed.
