MUD, glorious mud was the order of the day for these youngsters from the Oxford Nursery in Summertown.
As part of the International Mud Day celebrations on June 29, the children certainly got stuck in with mud painting, mud modelling clay and experimenting in an outdoor mud kitchen.
Amy Roberts, the deputy manager at the Marston Ferry Road nursery, said: “There were 40 children involved overall and they said that they absolutely loved the International Mud Day activities.
“We worked the whole curriculum around mud. he children even made a chicken mud curry and a chocolate mud pie for lunch.”
International Mud Day is celebrated by children and adults across the globe in order to raise awareness of the benefits children reap when they connect with nature.
Ms Roberts added: “At the nursery we always get involved with international days of the year and this was one was especially fun. My daughter, Jennifer, said that she particularly enjoyed the mud painting.”
