POLICE are hunting a man in connection with a sexual assault on a 29-year-old woman.

The victim was attacked in a footpath off Manor Road about 8am this morning when she approached and grabbed by a man believed to be aged between 14 and 20.

The attacker fled the scene and a police cordon has since closed the bridge between the alleyway near to Lake Street and Manor Road.

The attacker is described as a white man of slim build, clean shaven and about 5ft 9ins.

He is believed to be wearing dark blue jeans and a grey top with red sleeves.

The fire service was called to assist the police investigation and Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Jessica Rodgerson said: "The fire service called to assist our officers in retrieving an item from a tree, we can’t go into any more detail than this at the moment."

Police were unable to confirm what they were searching for.

Det Insp Jim Holmes said: "We are continuing to support the victim at this time and we are establishing the circumstances of the incident. I would like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything out of the ordinary around the time of the incident in Lake Sreet area today.

"Anyone with any information which they think could help this investigation should contact police on the non-emergency number 101."
