Hugh Saar bagged a brace of tries as Banbury Under 18s A finished with a flourish to win 33-14 at Newbury in OBB League Division 1.
Despite a sluggish star, Banbury scored first as Saar ran the length of the field.
But Banbury’s indiscipline and Newbury’s continued commitment saw the hosts hit back to lead 14-7 at half-time.
Going into the last quarter, Banbury were looking down the barrel of defeat, but when the line-out clicked, Jake Anderson scored a try from a driving maul.
More quality line-out ball then saw Banbury run in tries from Rhys Andrews, Charlie Mallock and a somewhat fortunate second for Saar.
Sam Manning landed three conversions and Saar also kicked one as Banbury secured a bonus point win.
