FORMER England captain Mike Gatting and radio presenter Ken Bruce have helped to raise £7,000 in a bid to improve cricket facilities in Towersey, near Thame.
The duo hosted an inaugural cricket dinner at Chinnor RFC – which was attended by just under 100 people – to generate funds for MP Sports Cricket Academy.
Money will be used to install a twin-bay net facility for the under nine, 11, 13 and 15 teams.
Manoj Parmar, who runs the academy, said: “We have been bowled over by the support we have received and the generosity shown.”
