BICESTER lost for the first time this season as they were beaten 33-32 by Aylesbury in Southern Counties North.

However, they picked up four-try and losing bonus points to go second.

A Tom Miles penalty, and tries from James Grosvenor (2) and Dan Spencer helped Bicester to a 22-16 lead at the break.

Five minutes into the half, Aylesbury went 26-22 ahead with a converted try from James Dodds and a James Woodfall penalty.

Miles reduced the deficit to one point with a three-pointer, but when Will Anns was sin-binned, Bicester were made to pay.

Dodds crossed for his second and Woodfall added the extras for 33-25.

Bicester piled on the pressure and in the last play of the match, Anns careered under the posts.

Miles converted as the hosts fell just short.

Wallingford earned a four-try bonus point, but lost 38-30 at Beaconsfield.

Dan Sadler and Ian Jeffries went over in the first half as the visitors led 18-15 at half-time.

The second half was a frantic affair, but one that was ultimately decided by indiscipline.

With Chris Jenkins in the sin-bin, the hosts took advantage, scoring a try and kicking two penalties.

Wallingford struck back through James Norris, but two penalties for the hosts effectively ended the game.

Nevertheless, Jeffries forced his way over to earn the bonus point.
