ABINGDON ran in seven tries as they continued their fine start in the BB&O Premier Division with a 54-12 win over Chipping Norton.

Ash Davidson (2), Gareth Smith, Lee Taylor, Robert Tyreman, Luke Mathews and James Webb were Abingdon’s try scorers.

Chris Stables converted five and also kicked three penalties.

Harry Sutton scored a hat-trick of tries as Gosford All Blacks beat Slough 34-18.

But the match was marred by an early injury to Slough’s Tony Baughan, who was taken to hospital.

All Blacks’ other try scorers were Richard Tyler, Rich Robbins and Ben Bodinham.

Will Watts landed two conversions.

Alchester recovered from their early exit in the Oxfordshire Shield to edge Chesham 10-7.

The visitors drew first blood, but Alchester replied through winger Toby James’s try.

Captain Adam White added the extras for 7-7.

White then slotted a penalty for what proved to be the match-winning score.

Elsewhere, Wheatley lost 45-18 against Milton Keynes.

In the Championship, Sam Lacy and James Mason both crossed twice as Didcot breezed past Aldermaston 68-15 to maintain their unbeaten start.

Andy Pynegar, Ronnie Booth, John Stephens, Tom Kennedy, Carl Betteridge and Josh Witts also went over.

Witts added nine conversions.

Littlemore drew 17-17 with Berkshire Shire Hall, but Oxford lost 34-17 against Farnham Royal and Faringdon went down 43-3 at Phoenix.
